Kappaleen sanat

There's an old house on the hill
abandoned but it invites me in
wards guard the doorway
the paint is cracked and ashen
The Lady of the House shows herself
Her silver gray hair
alive in the wind

She's named Marie

We stroll through the tall grass
around to the back of the house
and she explains to me
how to invite myself in
The porch is worn-down
and creaks weak under my feet
She's older than the hut
yet her voice is firm

Pebbels all over the floor
each engraved in detail
She says she and I
have always been here
in the dream of an old man

The stairs are missing a few steps
the banisted eaten by worms
yet we ascend safely
The attic has a view
through the dark glass, over the valley
Is that where I came from
or where I'll go?

Pebbels all over the floor
each engraved in detail
She says she and I
have always been here
in the dream of an old man
