Elëgida was a Finnish electronic music project, having started first with a name 'Eerick' around 2003 (other names were 'Blaze', 'Cirrus973' until finally settling with Elëgida). Initially I focused pretty much on making electronica and dance music, later on I had a period where house was the thing for me.
As I became aware of the great art movement surrealism around early 2008, and visual artwork created by Salvador Dalí, I noticed I would actually draw influences from them into my music making, and so my experimental era came about. In late 2009 I bought my second guitar (I had no real interest in the instrument the first time I got one in 2006) and towards the end of the project I would incorporate some pop/rock sounds.
As I got a genuine interest in metal music, I stopped making electronic music for good; not deliberately, but it's just that my music taste is nothing like it used to be. I am however open to new ideas, and sometimes experimenting with avantgardist metal music inevitably, to me, means using some electronic sounds also. In any case, however different my tastes are today, I have great respect for people such as a profound DJ and audio engineer Jouni 'Jonkka' Aikala for once introducing me the great art of composing. This project was a big part of my life, and will remain in the ether and the web for years to come.
Tähän sain aikoinaan inspiraation eräästä tietokirjata (vissiin Pikku Jättiläinen) jota luin aina pikkulapsesta saakka. Tähtitiede-osiossa oli hypoteesejä "oudoista maailmoista" jossa oli taiteilijan näkemys Proxima Centaurista, josta lumoutuneena tein ko. nimisen toisen biisinkin.
