Historia:
Larry Peninsula story: It's been quite a long time that I've spent with music. I have no regrets at all. Music has given me strength and it has become an important part of me and what I represent. I really do think that music is the best universal language. Whether you are a Hindu or a Jewish you can understand and feel the power of music. That's also why music unites people. I'm sure that I'll be playing music when I'm 80 years old. I can see myself playing banjo on my porch in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

This song was written by my friend Raine Oikarinen.
Although this song doesn't represent musically so much what I am about, I think we really captured the spirit what Raine was looking for.

This song has quite a rocking chorus. Must be one of my better songs, I feel that way anyway... On the beginning you can hear a black woman singing, that's me, sorry.... I'm also a huge Bruce Springsteen fan and saw his concert last week, just amazing. Chorus has a Bruce vibe to me. Or I just wanna say that.... He's the Boss, I'm more like a apprentice.
LYRICS:
Paintings on the wall, one's from San Antonio. Papers on the floor, in San Antonio. Children going to school, one's Antonio. He just moved into a town, called San Antonio.
Some are walking on the River Walk. Others watching Tower of the Americas.
San Antonio, how 'bout a little rodeo. Here we come, Like rolling stones.
San Antonio, how 'bout a little rodeo. Here we come, to San Antonio.
Old man sippin' on a regular wine, remembering his beautiful wife who died in San Antonio
A city cop, was in Candy shop. A young boy named Antonio, got caught in San Antonio.
Some people call it "Alamo City." But guys like me say:
San Antonio, how 'bout a little rodeo. Here we come, Like rolling stones.
San Antonio, how 'bout a little rodeo. Here we come, to San Antonio.
It's a place where you can stay, no-one will say get outta here. This may sound like a Cliche, but there's nothing, better, than, This City.
San Antonio, how 'bout a little rodeo. Here we come, Like rolling stones.
San Antonio, how 'bout a little rodeo. Here we come, San Antonio.
(I wanna get there someday, I need to see the city that I'm singing about, San Antonio. Obrigado)

Another country song. The sounds aren't that good on this one, but you'll here what's the main idea anyway. This song is a long time coming.
LYRICS
It was friday morning, we packed the car. Day after the storm in Arkansas. Where should we go, to New Mexico? The water washed my town away
Just about a month ago, I was swimming in the Eastwood River. Mother Nature Terror, should I forgive her. What should I do with Ronnie and Jude. The water washed my town away.
No More Rainy Days, this town is full in many ways. No more fading away, 'cause I'm here today.
Water our enemy, but still a necessity. Traffic jam in New York City. Climate change and Al Gore. The Water washed my town away.
No More Rainy Days, this town is full in many ways. No more fading away, 'cause I'm here today. Water on my town, Water on your town.
No More Rainy Days, this town is full in many ways. No more fading away, 'cause I'm here today.

People have seem to be liking my songs with vocals. First of all I thank you all for that. That gives me a reason to keep on doing these.
Here's a new one with a sad sad story. I think this one's my best one so far as a song. The song is a story about an alcoholic and drug-addicted people.
LYRICS:
I've been away too long, took it to the limit. I been in pain too long, I couldn't see it. I've raced againts my life, but I didn't win it. Wasn't so sure about tomorrow.
I'be been down in my hometown, I've been low, in a no-town. I've crashed to the ground, too many times. Couldn't see anything.
I'm on the corner, lying on the sidewalk, on the alley, with no-one to talk
begging for money, getting in trouble, I don't know what happened to me
I lost the count on days, don't really even care. If it's sunday or monday. "Hey buddy! You have a beer? I'm all alone, down here." And that's the way it goes.
I watch all the couples, walking by. and see i forgotten to do. I watch my life, slowly passing by. and dream what it could have been.
On the corner, lying on the sidewalk, on the alley, with no-one to talk.
Begging for money, getting in trouble, I don't know what happened to me.
All the drugs I've taken, all the crimes I made, Have taken me down oh so low.
I lost too many years, I drank too many beers, I'm so down, oh so low.
On the corner, lying on the sidewalk, on the alley, with no-one to talk.
Begging for money, getting in trouble, I don't know what happened to me.

Flight to NY started with a groovy bassline and everything else was pretty much flowing in the air. I may use this song in the future, there's a few good lines near and dear to me.
This song would be even better with vocals but I ain't got no lyrics to this one yet so, we'll see if I have time and nerves. Summer song!

If That's What I Can Get |
Folk
|
I'm gonna make a better version of this soon but here's the root I made quikly. People were sleeping so I couldn't be too loud you know
You should listen to this with the lyrics, without the lyrics it will basicly,,, just suck. So this is a easy going track with humorous touch(maybe not to all though...)
LYRICS:
I need a place, where I can rest. Kind of a place, what I can get. I don't need anything fancy, just a roof over my head. Maybe a house on the Hollywood Hills, if that's what I can get.
I need a car, fast and red. Kind of a car, what I can get. It doesn't need to be too cool, just four wheels and a roof. Maybe a Rolls Royce, if that's what I can get.
People say I'm too demanding, but I'm just a simple, humble guy. My friends say they can't stand me. So what can I do?
I need a girl, loyal to me and my needs. Kind of a woman, who feeds me. She doesn't need to be a model, nor a cleaning lady. Maybe Marilyn Monroe, if she's what I can get.(well, you never know)
People say, well what they say. But I need what I need. My friends say: "you're a fool!". So what can I do?
I need to work, to narrow down my rage. Kind of a work, with a decent wage. "It doesn't need to be anything fancy but I" I want fame. I could be the president of the USA, it's not hard to do. I could be astronaut, or just me, Bobby Lee.
I need to go home, and see my wife. Actually see is just fine, and what I can get. I like my old Toyota, after Uno Corona.(opening one!).And these are the things, I can afford. But I'll chance my Toyota to a pick-up Ford, that's what I can get.

Good Evening, Moody Feeling |
Country
|
This has a little Eagles tone to it. Vocals are too low on this one but I decided to give it a try. Words are kinda weird but maybe that's just me...
LYRICS:
Living in a dream world, flying with the eagle in the sky. Listening to the Eagles, having a peaceful easy feeling.
Sometimes I can't feel anything. I can't hear, but I have no fear, that's ok. But Tonight I can feel everything. I can see the light, it's not the God's light (I'm not out of my mind).
Good evening moody feeling. How 'bout a little dreaming? Where were you on yesterday evening. I bet you were dreamin'.(x2 i guess)
Different colors, paint the world. Like red wine or the deep blue sea or the yellow submarine. Different point of views and the chancing attitudes.
I'm dreaming in a real world. Too much jealousy and wasted memories. On my mind, I'm in a beautiful island. The sun goes down and I feel so fine and I say goodbye. Good evening moody feeling. How 'bout a little dreaming? Where were you on yesterday evening. I bet you were dreamin'.
This is a raw demo and close what this song should sound like. It's a risky business we live in.

This is something like the previous song. With low and invicible vocals. It was very close that this song would have been destroyed btw. Enjoy the pedal steel! The sound is a bit DARKY but I can do no better. This song is dedicated to Dick Tars.
LYRICS: I believe I can see your dreams. But they seem to be too much for me. Remember what Bobby said. He said " life is a mystery". You could be gone, you could be history.
Do you remember the day, when we moved to Anaheim. It was a sunny day, but something changed along the way. Then came the California rain and misery. Our house could be gone, our life could be history. Do you know, if we're staying together. Although we're living in stormy weather.
Now I'm alone. Alone in my fishing boat. And she's been gone two months in a row. I remember what Bobby said, now I know what he means. Now she's gone. She's part of my history. I don't care, if we're staying together. I like living in stormy weather.
I believed. I could see your dreams. But they seemed to be too much for me. I know what bobby said. Life's still a mystery to me. I could be gone, I could be history. (yeah, that's what he said) Sun is shining here in Tennessee and I'm trying to catch some fish. (Oletusarvo, paina muokataksesi)

I made this song a couple of days ago. I decided to put it here because it's a special song to me. I attempted to do some easy going vocals. This is a tribute to all Willie Nelson, J. Cash, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young and Simon & Garfunkel. I wanted to get an authentic feel and not to push the vocals too much. I'm not much of a singer so deal with it. I finished the lyrics and the song really fast, easiest song that I've done.
LYRICS: I was going to the Jacksons, it's a bar in this town. I should do some gambling before I change my mind. My friend Jimmy works as an actor, he ain't doin' so good anymore. He sleeps in a factor with his dog and a beer Chorus: Sometimes life ain't so easy, but you gotta keep movin' on. This song has a meaning for us who still feel. It's hard to see Jimmy cry in Jackson's bar. We stole a car from the bar and drove to Ohio. I wanted to see my mom and say hello. We drove through the rain, hurricanes and the fields. We wanted to see the Sea. Chorus: Sometimes life ain't so easy, but you gotta keep movin' on. This song has a Feeling for us who still feel. It's hard to see Jimmy cry in Jackson's bar. Listen to your Dream, before it really means nothing at all. Sometimes life ain't so easy, but you gotta keep movin' on. This song has a meaning for us who still feel. I don't wanna see Jimmy cry, I don't wanna see Jimmy when he's been drinking, I don't wanna see Jimmy cry in Jackson town...I mean bar. (that's a real mistake and I felt like sticking with it) The sound is a bit darky but hey, that's country!

Sun is shining and I feel good. So I recorded this fun bluegrass tune. Every instrument is basicly played on one take. When the big old Buick is running and the sun is shining, everybody's smiling.

Recorded on one take and basicly composed at the same time. This is a basic root for the song and has a same kind of vibe as Melody on my Mind, one of my older piano songs. Nothing fancy, but then again, it shouldn't be.

I wanted to make a video of me recording a song from start to finish, to show you how I make music. The song coming together is actually seen on this next video. I couldn't make too long song because it would have been a boring video. Sound on the video isn't good because it was shot with a digital camera.Don't mind about the little break in the middle.

I got funky with the drum track. This just got bigger and bigger and I decided to give it a try. Something Different I might say. Thanks for the inspiration to Ryan Leslie, he's a genius. Every now and then it's good for a musician to try to do something else.

Smoky Blues For Ya'll |
Blues
|
I don't really know the reason why I haven't done any blues songs before. I consider myself more a blues than a jazz guitarist. Anyway this is a imrovised tune and there's a few interesting guitar lines. This is quite raw, with mistakes in it, I didn't want to make it too clean, blues shouldn't be too clean. all the instruments pretty much on one take too to keep it blues

oh my, this project was doomed even before I started it. After three hours of recording, my machine broke down and everything was gone! I wasn't so happy on that moment. But I couldn't surrender, so I started From The Start Again (listen that too!). It took three hours but this latter version is actually better. The drum fill at the end tells how frustrated I was.

This song was all written and recorded today. You can hear lots of my influences on this track, like Toto and Larry Carlton.... And again drums on one take, it wasn't easy to remember what part comes after other. 3 guitars; lukather style lead guitar, and the jazz guitar + acoustic fender. There's always something happening in Harlem, I captured the Harlem feeling without getting shot.
