Crimson Lotus: Unpleasant shades of gray

Unpleasant shades of gray

“Anger can turn to pleasure; spite can turn to joy. But a nation destroyed cannot be put back together again; a dead man cannot be brought back to life.” – Sun Tzu

Yet another squall of rain is painting the streets with gloom
The unpleasant shades of grey give everything a sense of doom

Finding myself on hostile the grounds again
One by one, we move in silence; like quiet heralds of the end

With you in my mind I press forward to forget
Step by step, we’re getting closer; and suddenly a flash of light

Stating the obvious; I would never be like I was
Before our lives started to unfold like this in front of us
Now all we had is lost; you must somehow deal with this loss
I have taken the easy way out of my lives great mischief

Everything is in slow motion; bright lights everywhere
The unpleasant shades of grey are all that meet my stare

I have reached the end of my road and everything’s so clear
At last I am setting with the sun as I leave this mortal shell

Stating the obvious; I would never be like I was
Before our lives started to unfold like this in front of us
Now all we had is lost; you must somehow deal with this loss
I have taken the easy way
