Slack Haddock: Winter Solstice

Fall asleep our son,
The time has come.
For me to go my way,
for you to escape the day.

We will not meet again,
I'd only bring you shame.
My hands are old and tired
My eyes are snowblind.

While the the Lord of Darkness, rides the day,
Queen of Light, flies away.

Call for the sun,
On this solstice day.
Now the Light is gone,
we meet in the dark again.

Start the fires around,
to light the lightless day.
Cry for the Son,
to rule us again.

And I feel the darkness, grip my heart.
I cry for my Love, as my soul aparts.

My tears are frozen when they leave my eyes,
I won't show my fear now I'm going to die.

Call for the sun,
On this solstice day.
Now the Light is gone,
we meet in the dark again.

Start the fires around,
to light the lightless day.
Cry for the Son,
to rule us again.

Howl at the moon,
on this endless night.
My tribe is doomed,
They march and fight.

Hold your heads up high,
the moon light's your guide,
Through this endless night,
You must march and fight.

Call for the sun,
On this solstice day.
Now the Light is gone,
we meet in the dark again.

Start the fires around,
to light the lightless day.
Cry for the Son,
to rule us again.
