Halda: The Mire

The Mire

How long have I been under
In my dreamless slumber
And why this echo of a scream...

The dark now darker
So still the water

Strong vines have sprung
Rooting me to the ground
The mire rising...

The dark now darker
So still the water

Black pools of choler closing in

I cannot recall my name
Who I am, whence I came
Yet the murmuring of lichen and moss
Tells a tale of sorrow and loss

The dark now darker
The mire rising

I hark to my despairing heart;
It wants to warn me of the dark
But no light... no light...
This deathly sleep i cannot fight
