Faro: Midnight Drive

Dust is sleeping on the ground
all day it's been flying around
I am feeling good and clean
both my hands there on the wheel

Driving through the dimming night
and I have turned off all the lights
Like I was a bird midflight
fast and smooth and out of sight

Midnight drive, I'm on the track
Clear the sky, I'm coming back
Going away, I've had too much
Brain turned off, I lift the clutch

See me burn through the night sky

Tonight the trees they had their leaves
Winter's dead and no one grieves
Red eyes of a radio mast
staring through me as I pass

Some taillights I see, they burn
Flick the swich and take my turn
So I'm back here, heading west
Back here this is still the best
