Prime Mover is a Finnish band that plays an original kind of progressive rock music. The music can be described shortly as containing quite a lot of odd time signatures, soundexperiments and sudden changes in style, but at the same time being clearly structured with accessible melodies and traditional elements. The songs are the most important thing, not solos or showing off.

The band has also lately started to write their lyrics in their native tongue: a minority version of Swedish spoken only in Finland.
