Suomalainen ~ The 4th Floor was initially heavily inspired by horror fiction, especially the videogame series 'Silent Hill', and the early material was horror-oriented Dark Ambient/Noise. At the moment, however, The 4th Floor mostly concentrates on haunting, beautiful (and sometimes eerie or disturbing) soundscapes, with a certain "old" sound, even though most of the music is created with the computer. The 4th Floor has been compared to artists and bands like Sigur Rós, Akira Yamaoka, Bass Communion and Múm.
