Kirsten Dunst wows in semi-sheer strapless dress

Kirsten Dunst wows in semi-sheer strapless dress as she leads the glamour at Cannes Film Festival's closing ceremony... while British director Ken Loach wins his second Palme D'Or

She's been storming the red carpet at the 69th annual Cannes Film Festival.

And, once again, Kirsten Dunst made yet another savvy sartorial choice as she stepped out for Cannes Film Festival's Palme D'Or Award and closing ceremony on Sunday afternoon.

The 34-year-old actress - a member of this year's jury - continued to reign supreme in the style stakes as she stepped out in another attention-grabbing look at the Palais Des Festivals.

Oozing elegance, the blonde beauty sported a strapless, semi-sheer lace number that showed off her incredible figure - nipping in at her tiny waist and flaring out with a dramatic train.

Featuring symmetrical lace bodice, the skirt was equally adventurous with clusters of diamonds along the hemline. Adding further appeal, she kept her accessories to a minimum in order to let the dress do the talking.

The Fargo star also wore her golden locks up into a sophisticated bun, with loose and tousled sections at the front, that framed her pretty face.

As one of the jurors at the esteemed film festival, Kirsten ensured she nailed every element of her ensemble, sporting soft make-up that complemented her gown.

Framing her baby blue eyes with a sweep of mascara, she wore a slick of rosy gloss on her plump pout whilst a swathe of rouge accentuated her defined cheekbones.

Together, the look was a successful one for the Crazy/Beautiful actress, who first rose to fame in smash-hit thriller Interview With A Vampire.

And while the red carpet may have belonged to Kirsten, the night belonged to British director Ken Loach.

The veteran filmmaker, 79, picked his second Palme d'Or for I, Daniel Blake.

The award, the festival's top prize, was announced by actor Mel Gibson at the Sunday ceremony at the Palais des Festivals on the French Riviera.

Jury president George Miller described the jury's selection as 'rigorous and happy'.

I, Daniel Blake is a warmly realistic drama about a middle-aged widower in northern England who can neither work nor get government benefits after a heart attack. Loach previously also won the top award for The Wind That Shakes The Barley in 2006.

The Left Wing activist has had 12 films in competition at the Cannes Film Festival through his long career, including The Wind That Shakes The Barley, which took the Palme D'Or in 2006.

Taking to the stand, he hit out at the austerity policies being adopted across Europe, saying: 'We must give a message of hope, we must say another world is possible.

'The world we live in is at a dangerous point right now. We are in the grip of a dangerous project of austerity driven by ideas that we call neo-liberalism that have brought us to near catastrophe... When there is despair, the people from the far right take advantage.

Alongside Kirsten on the jury was French actress Vanessa Paradis, who looked equally demure.

The former wife of Johnny Depp - who first launched her career as a teenage pop star - slipped into a petite black-and-white dress which deftly displayed her impressive shape.

Like Kirsten, the daring number also featured a lace trim - except Vanessa's was frayed and positioned along the neckline and hem.
