Society of sadness's journey began in early 2007 when O.Laituri and T.Hartikainen started play some extremely heavy metal together. In early years T.Hartikainen played guitar and O.Laituri drums. The band decided to make an instrumental switch in 2008, so that Laituri would focus on guitar and Hartikainen to drums. Lot of alcohol was consumed and lots of time spent in rehearsalroom called the Gas Chamber and suddenly songs started to come together! Musical influences in Society of Sadness are mainly Dissection, Iron Maiden, Immortal and Dismember In 2009 M.Makkonen (Farewell, Sadistik Forest) joined the band. His participation had been in talks for a couple of years, but finally we were able to join forces!! In 2010 Society Of Sadness went to studio to record their first demo. Session musician Harri Qrangvist (Se, Josta ei puhuta) played bass on tape, but unfortunately Harri did not find time to continue in the band. (So, bass players: Heads up!) First promotape is now ready and it's called "Society Of Sadness - 2010". It sounds rough metal with attitude, rage, sheer straightforward energy and respect towards traditional heavy metal! Band is right now focused to play few gigs and write some new songs for the full lenght S.o.S.-album. We respect YOU, Metal Maniacs! See you in hell!!!
