How's it going? I'm the man himself Larry Peninsula, musician and a special person. They say I'm 21, can't be so sure nowadays. Music came to me when I was somewhere around 10, a little kid who didn't know that music was about to steal his life, in a good way. When I think about it my way, I can say without any doubt that music is what I'm here for. To me music is life, other things follow.
I started with drums, I have the beat in my veins. I'm always tapping something with my hands. Somebody's always mentioning about it. I'm also a storyteller. This brings me back one memory when I was waiting for my flight in San Francisco and I was drumming the seat like usually and so this one lady got very frustrated about it and said " Do you mind stopping that, that's very annoying", I did stop but that was an very awkward moment, sweet memories... But I guarantee those beats weren't offbeat, I remember I had some samba going on, I should have just ignored the lady and keep on playing.
I have also played the guitar for a while(11 years). I'm a lyrical guitarist, tryin' to find my own style and mix all my influences to make this musical soup. I never really practise, I just play, that's the way music has always been to me. Talking about soup, I'm also a decent self-taught keyboardist. To me it's joy to play and let my fingers handle the hard work. I'm basicly just listening in that point, how convenient. Playing piano and keyboards are my passion.
All the songs on my Mikseri site are my compositions and I've played all the instruments. I'm able to play the bass too, how convincing who wouldn't? Bass is a cool instrument, Randy Jackson from American Idol knows what I'm talking about.
The sound quality isn't the best, the drums are recorded with just only one microphone, so that gives you a picture what kind of music I'm offering you here. No, but seriously I think that you'll like what you hear.
I have a lots of influences. Here's couple of important names for me; John Fogerty, Bruce Springsteen, The Eagles, Johnny Cash, Larry Carlton, Elton John, Billy Joel, James Taylor, Michael McDonald, Steely Dan, Fourplay, Spyro Gyra, Willie Nelson, Josh Turner, Toto, Eric Clapton, Kenny Chesney, Lionel Richie, George Benson, George Strait, Paul McCartney, Jackson Browne, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, CCR, Santana, Brooks and Dunn, Brad Paisley, Marcus Miller, Phil Collins, Eros Ramazzotti, Joe Nichols, Alan Jackson, Kris Kristofferson, Simon & Garfunkel, Toto, John Mayer, Toby Keith, Randy Travis ... To me it's all about the soul, good melodies and something that touches my old soul......I could go on forever. I have a great passion for American Country music and also for american culture. My country obsession started when I saw Eagles play Take it easy. That's also a song that describes my life and the way I want to live it.
