HOLY THE PAGAN POEMS: DANDELIONS

they let me go in bloom
madly they run all around
making the circle of frames

they said, "would you like to be with us?"
I said, "but you brought the rain."
and they smiled when I faded

dandelion I am
of a sandcastle
and rain you are
a ring of the falls

that I am
and rain you are
a lion of weeds
the bristle as a reed

wind will bring you more me
