Johannes Laitila: Drowning Tune

I know the death is closing in. It's true that I'm afraid of it. So why do I think about you now? Is it because it's the only way I can get out? I'm falling for your eyes. I try not to cry. The world is white. I'll close my eyes. We've built our houses on the ice. I love the sunshine. You should know how much I do. The sun will pull us apart some day. I don't have to close my blinds at night. They are always down so I don't see if the sun don't shine. I get scared if I see all the clouds. Then I think of you - something makes me want to run and shout. I'm falling through the ice. I can't see into your eyes. The world is white. I'll close my eyes. We've built our houses on the ice. Here's the sunshine, that's why the death has come yet closer. The sun will take us away some day: today.

...now that I have just passed away I only wish the sun will shine each day.
