Paragon Shift: Way I Am

Non-feeling, non-being. Nothing interests me.
I bathe in the blinking of the screen.
I lie. Replay. The same day every day.
With my cheerless friends unseen.

The passing hours in every passing day
overindulges with me.

(I) am nothing. (I) own nothing, oh, when there's nothing
not a thing can be turned against me.

And the future that ought to be mine
is slipping away with time.
My four-walled world seems to prevent aging
but truly makes me blind.

[Chorus]
My tired mind has no daring to bind
its last bit of faith to the world outside.
And I fear it'll kill me the way I am.

Need no friends. Need no job. Don't need what I haven't got.
I need no flowers on my grave.
Let time waste. There's no haste. A life only bothers -
though it has no meaning anyway.

And the future that ought to be mine
is slipping away with time.
My four-walled world seems to prevent aging
but truly makes me blind.

[Chorus]
My tired mind has no daring to bind
its last bit of faith to the world outside.
And I fear it'll kill me the way I am.

This is what I've always been, but I don't dare
to come near. I have have no courage to change.
The things that matter, the people who care they wave at me,
and I too wave to them goodbye.

[Chorus]
