Dismay: Cured by Silence

The cold ignorance in these stares
so many mistakes never compensated for
Sometimes apologies just lead nowhere
and none of us even want to recall

Nothing good left in those old days
Unaccounted for are the errors
you never even tried to erase
Nothing positive to withstand the time
I've burried my burdens,
now you bury your crimes

Weight of the words too overwhelming to bear
most decisions later regreted
The mask of politeness we both seem to wear
hides a truth none needed to know

I've cut down the binds that used to tie
and found the cure in mutual silence

Nothing good left in those old days
Unaccounted for are the errors
you never even tried to erase
Nothing positive to withstand the time
I've burried my burdens,
now you bury your crimes
