climbing the steps that end in midair

as ceiling drips those cherry red drops
i realize
drag myself to the safety of sweet
childhood dreams

your warm lap is as deceiving as a sea
treacherous smile that you flash when it's needed
calming embrace is just a vested interest
you are a devil wrapped in a pretty packet
