If the La Morte Vivante-CD was promising but had a few weaknesses, then Deadcrow cashes in on all the expectations and then some. Taking a more varied approach, sacrificing some of the brutality, aggression and speed for a bit more melodic and even catchy approach, Deadcrow is definitely a step forward on virtually every front. The sound is excellent, clear without sacrificing power, the vocals are equally excellent and the pronunciation isn’t as disturbing this time around (actually it sounds good; really, a big improvement), and the song material itself is definitely superior to any of the earlier Scarecrow-material I’ve heard. Again, nothing really groundbreaking or pioneering, but so well done that Deadcrow stands out from the mass by virtue of quality alone. Thus Scarecrow are a schoolbook example of that you don’t always have to be original and all that inventive to be fucking good. This is the way Metallic Horror Punk should be done, period. Deadcrow is a brilliant album.

So I definitely and wholeheartedly recommend this CD to everyone. It was an instant hit on the very first listen, and several dozens of listens later it’s still an exciting album that I’m not even starting to grow tired of. Get… it… NOW!
