I removed my human features
to live in a world of machine dreams
I destroyed erased improved myself
to keep the others far away

It was a fine system of schizoid acrid placidity
but I forgot the human component
is always inside of me

Now the cynic machine self
fails to accept even acrid peace
and rather stays in the cold scrutizing cathode light
telling me the rare few things I desire
Will never be mine
Telling me my quest for empathy
is driving me to insanity

They say that I am sane
that I am just losing perspective
But they don't know
I sold my senses for knowledge and rationality
and now it's part of me my machine self
my little cynic machine elf that eats away my sanity
And when I try to act human again
it tells me I'll just fuck it up again

Trying to talk to sense to myself
on my way to the bus station
Trying to give some words of encouragement
but they don't really seem to matter
Trying shut my pessimism up
before the encounter
Trying to forget for a second
what I think I truly am

Still the machine true self
fails to obey what I try to say
My mind is so noisy that
I try to shut everything up

No matter what I do or say
I can't make myself feel sane
You are my machine self's bane
Maybe I need to be humanely insane

They say that I am sane
