Hei!
I would like to upload some of the music I recently made, but don't know how. I would like to sort it too, because some of it is done with my acoustic guitar and some other is done with a computer program, so I wanted to keep these in separate groups.
I figure, after downloading so much great music from this site, I ought to upload some for others as well. I have so many ideas, so there is sure to be more music developed in the future, though for now I'd like to share what I've done so far.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I will have to see how for I can get from this lead, though I've got to go to the store now and then get some sleep for work tomorrow, so I'll drop back very soon in the next day or two and give it a try!

1. Convert your music into MP3 format, free membership allows up to 160Kbps CBR quality. If you want better quality you need to pay for the Goldmember status which gives you extra features.
2. Go to user account settings (Asetukset, top right corner of front page) and click "Uusi projekti" (New Project)
3. Fill in details of the project, the fields/checks are:
- Project name
- [dropdown ]Genre
- [checkbox] Allow songs to be distributed outside Mikseri (e.g. Internet radios, TV, dunno what exactly)
- [checkbox] Touring artist (check if you do gigs)
- Booking agent contact info (only if you checked the box above)
- Members
- History
- Gear
- Idols/Infuences
- Info (e.g. some additional details)
- Brief description (displayed e.g. on your user profile page)
- [button] Add project
4. Now you see the project on your account settings page, click on it and you'll see a long(ish) list of actions. Click "Biisit ja soittoäänet" (Songs and Ringtones), then "Lisää uusi biisi" (Add new song).
5. Here's the fields of the "Add new song" page:
- Name
- Genre
- Song cover image file (max. 70x70 pixels, can't remember format but at least GIF, JPG and PNG will do)
- MP3 (yeah, the song file, max. file size approx. 40MB)
- Song description (Finnish, you can add separate English description after uploading so you can leave that blank)
6. Now you have some extra tools on the "Biisit ja soittoäänet" page for every song:
- Lisää kappaleen sanoitukset = Add song lyrics
- Lisätiedot = Description (you can have separate descriptions for different languages)
That should get you going. There are a lot more features (like customizing the artis page looks) but I'm not getting into that since it's something you can find yourself. Many of the fields are optional but I really don't see a reason to not fill them.
BTW. Google can translate from Finnish to English, it's far from perfect but sufficient for sites like this and accurate enough for basic use. Translating the entire site doesn't work though, the translation is lost as soon as you log in and you get logged out if you translate the page again.
I recall there was a thread like this with some advice about using Mikseri if you don't understand Finnish but I just couldn't find it. This kind of post should be sticky until the entire site is translated (if that will ever happen).
